Hello all,

Tracker 4.71 installers for Windows, Mac and Linux are now available from both the Tracker home page (http://www.cabrillo.edu/~dbrown/tracker/) and ComPADRE (http://www.opensourcephysics.org/items/detail.cfm?ID=7365). This release fixes some bugs in version 4.70 and adds a new "refresh HTML" button to the Digital Library Browser.

Be sure to install Xuggle even if it is already installed to make sure you have the latest version (currently 5.4.0). Also, if you have not yet done so, please check out the new Shared Collections menu in the Digital Library Browser which gives you direct access to video collections from LivePhoto and others. See Sharing Your Collection the Easy Way to learn more.

Note: some videos may exhibit a 4-frame "lag" when using Xuggle 5.4.0. It is especially obvious (and disconcerting!) when you step the video a few frames forward, then back. If you see this behavior you may be able to fix the problem by converting the video to a different format (I recommend FLV). You will need to use a separate video converter program for this, but there are several free ones available on the web. If you find a particularly good solution to the problem, please tell me and others about it via this discussion forum. Thank you!

Dear Doug,

Thank you for your work with Tracker.
I installed Tracker 4.71 in my computer with Windows 7 Prof (64-bit) and I have a problem when I try to open Tracker.  If I try to open Tracker right after loading Windows Tracker starts without problem. If I close the program and try to reopen it it's not starting at all. I don't know if this is a Tracker problem or a Java problem. Do you have any idea about this?

Thank you.
