How to enable data gaps autofill in the datatable view? How to know if its enabled?

Hi, So I have previously seen the 1/3 and enabled autofill before but no changes to the data appear to happen. Now I find it that the program is not showing the 1/3 autofill enable despite the fact I have 2 missing back to back steps quite a number of times. I never changed preferences and it appears that autofill is enabled so not sure how to get it running and also to see the changes. Any clarification would be appreciated. Also I am having trouble opening the trz files that I have created, is there a particular method of opening them? I double click them or try to open them in file section but it says " the file could not be found".
