We have more information about this Microsoft Defender warning and it is good news. We sent a description and screenshot of the warning to Softpedia, the independent software distribution, testing and tech news website that regularly tests Tracker for all forms of malware. Here is their reply:
We were not able to replicate the malware report with Microsoft Defender or other antivirus solutions. The VirusTotal report (link below) also indicates the installer and contained files are not malicious or suspicious. As far as we can tell, the [Microsoft Defender] report was almost certainly a false positive.

Good news--there's a work-around if Microsoft Defender blocks Tracker on Windows 11:
1. right-click the downloaded installer and choose "Show more options", then "Scan with Microsoft Defender" 2. if Defender identifies a threat (see screenshot) then click on "Allowed threats" 3. click on "Protection history," then exempt the Tracker installer under "Actions"
You should now be able to run the installer :-) Doug

My school requires use of Tracker, however the installation fails. After a little more digging, I figured out that Windows identifies the tracker.jar/tracker-6.1.1.jar as a virus/trojan called Trojan:Script/Wacatac.B!ml. I am unable to workaround it unless I disable the whole of Windows Defender. Please remedy this issue immediately.
