Is it possible to get Tracker working on Chromebooks?

We use Chromebooks at school and I would dearly like to install tracker on them for my students. You can install Java on a Chromebook, is it possible to run Tracker in this environment? Chromebooks are becoming a standard in a lot of schools.

Tracker online, a JavaScript version of Tracker that runs in a web browser, is now available for beta testing at https://tracker.physlets.org/trackerJS You will be amazed at its capabilities. This is thanks to Bob Hanson, a new member of the Open Source Physics team and a very skilled programmer who honed his skills writing the chemical structure visualization tool JMol.
Tracker online may still have bugs and it is slower than Tracker on the desktop, but we think it is a great start!
