This page contains an interactive simulation of charges in an electric field. Users add or delete charges to see how they react to the field. The user can also activate an external field and control its magnitude and direction. For more advanced learners, the field can be set to varying levels of discreteness.
This item is part of a larger collection of materials developed and maintained by the Physics Education Technology project (PhET) based on principles of physics education research.
