This NOVA website contains information about the scientific quest to utilize cold and to achieve the lowest temperature possible.  Several interactive simulations present topics such as the states of matter, the anatomy of a refrigerator, and a virtual lab to achieve low temperatures.  The site also includes articles on absolute hot, ultracold atoms, and milestones in cold research.
