The Astronomy Center has provided educational resources to introductory astronomy educators since 2003. Over the past 20 years, the rapid pace of discovery has rendered some of our linked resources obsolete. Thus, the Astronomy Center will be decommissioned on March 1, 2022. Our highest quality resources will be retained on ComPADRE.org.

This website provides K-12 classroom activities and educational resources on infrared astronomy. Sponsored by California Institute of Technology's Jet Propulsion Lab, this collection offers lesson plans for elementary and secondary teachers, comprehensive image sets and videos of infrared and UV phenomena, historical background, and tutorials explaining infrared astronomy and its application. It includes a comprehensive section on infrared spectroscopy, interactive games and activities for K-8 students.
