The Astronomy Center has provided educational resources to introductory astronomy educators since 2003. Over the past 20 years, the rapid pace of discovery has rendered some of our linked resources obsolete. Thus, the Astronomy Center will be decommissioned on March 1, 2022. Our highest quality resources will be retained on ComPADRE.org.
This is a traditional course website for teaching the birth and death of stars in one semester to introductory astronomy non-science major's. It contains a syllabus, lectures, links to internet resources, and quizzes. The text used in this course is: Schneider & Arny (no other text information is given). The site was developed by James Schombert, University of Oregon.
Topics include: stellar properties, binary stars, H-R diagram, stellar evolution, neutron stars, black holes, and interstellar medium.
