Scalar Field Gradient Model
written by Wolfgang Christian
The Scalar Field Gradient Model displays the gradient of a scalar field using a numerical approximation to the partial derivatives.  This simple teaching model also shows how to display and model scalar and vector fields using the EJS.

The EJS Scalar Field Gradient Model was created using the Easy Java Simulations (Ejs) modeling tool.  It is distributed as a ready-to-run (compiled) Java archive.  Double clicking the ejs_math_ScalarFieldGradient.jar file will run the program if Java is installed.

Please note that this resource requires at least version 1.5 of Java.
