Computing in Science and Engineering
An Open Source XML Framework for Authoring Curricular Material
written by Wolfgang Christian, Mario Belloni, and Douglas Brown
This article provides background information and instructions for users of Open Source Physics (OSP) java applet packages. OSP simulations and pedagogical materials are distributed in java archive files using a "Launcher" program to display and run. This article describes the information structure used to manipulate the Launcher application and provides basic instructions on how to modify the pedagogical materials and simulations in the package. More detailed information is available from the OSP web site.
