| Description: | The application for scholarships supporting undergraduate & technical certification STEM majors has been combined into one STEM Major Application for the 2012 Academic Year. Applicants will complete the STEM Major Application and send in supporting documents only once, but will be considered for all AFCEA STEM Major scholarship opportunities for which they are qualified. | Other Comments: | Scholarships will be awarded to traditional students working toward an undergraduate or graduate degree in the following C4I-related fields: Electrical, computer, chemical, systems or aerospace engineering; computer science; physics; mathematics; technology management; or management information systems. Majors directly related to the support of U.S. intelligence enterprises or national security with relevance to the mission of AFCEA will also be eligible. Students be must be at least second-year college students, enrolled full time as sophomores, juniors, or graduate students at the time of application. Scholarships will be awarded to young professionals (age 40 or under) currently employed in a field related to communications, computer science, or electronics. Applicants must be pursuing an advanced college degree (M.S. or Ph.D.) related to communications, computer science, electronics, electrical or systems engineering in preparation for a career in science or engineering at an accredited university or college in the United States OR pursuing technical certifications including any Cisco Certifications, Microsoft Certifications, Novell Certifications, Java Certification or A+ Certification. The Scholarship can be used for a course leading to certifications, a certification preparation program as in the Cisco week-long Boot Camp Prep Course, laboratory course or certification test fee. Courses taken from Learning Tree or any of their counterparts are considered valid for this scholarship. Distance Learning & Online programs are eligible. |
