| Description: | Solar Physics/Astronomy & Space Physics Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) Program Most of the research projects involve analysis of data from space missions such as Yohkoh, SOHO, TRACE, and RHESSI and ground-based observatories such as Mees Solar Observatory of the University of Hawaii and the National Solar Observatory. Experience has shown that data analysis projects are suitable for most undergraduates at the sophomore or junior level. Additionally, each year there are a few opportunities for REU research in the solar-stellar connection (dynamo theory, data analysis), magneto-hydrodynamics, plasma physics and space hardware development. |
