| Description: | The Department of Astronomy of Cornell University will be conducting a summer undergraduate research program funded by NSF in the field of Observational Astronomy. Students will work on individual research projects directly with Cornell faculty and research staff on topics covering a wide range of disciplines in radio, infrared, and radar astronomy, and related theoretical topics. Students interested in computer science are also encouraged to apply. The Research Assistantships, which include a stipend of $5,600 and travel funds of up to $1,000, are for a flexible eight-week period starting in June. First-, second-, or third-year undergraduates who are US citizens or permanent residents may apply. Student must have completed at least one year of undergraduate academic training by June 2008.
