|Description:||The Department of Astronomy of Cornell University will be conducting a summer undergraduate research program funded by NSF in the field of Observational Astronomy. Students will work on individual research projects directly with Cornell faculty and research staff on topics covering a wide range of disciplines in radio, infrared, and radar astronomy, and related theoretical topics. Students interested in computer science are also encouraged to apply.
The Research Assistantships, which include a stipend of $5,600 and travel funds of up to $1,000, are for a flexible eight-week period starting in June. First-, second-, or third-year undergraduates who are US citizens or permanent residents may apply. Student must have completed at least one year of undergraduate academic training by June 2008. Eight Research Assistantships will be available.
