| Description: | Science educators (those who are working toward teaching certification, graduate students, science museum administrators, middle- and high school teachers) participate in a two week program offering lectures, demonstrations, and hands-on experiments. PAN is an outreach program at the National Superconducting Cyclotron Laboratory (NSCL)--one of the world's leading nuclear physics laboratories--located on the campus of Michigan State University. It is run by the Joint Institute for Nuclear Astrophysics (JINA), NSCL faculty, and staff. The PAN experience: * Learn about forefront research in one of the leading nuclear physics laboratories in the world. * Get introduced to the fascination of astrophysics, cosmology, and nuclear science. * Perform your own nuclear physics experiments. * Experience the atmosphere of one of the biggest university campuses in the country. * Teachers: your two-week PAN experience can count as continuing education if you register for one credit through MSU! |
