| Description: | The Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) Program provides opportunities for undergraduates to engage in hands-on materials-related research at Northwestern University for 9 weeks over the summer. Participants come from major universities and small colleges around the country. Each participant is paired up with a faculty member and a graduate student or postdoctoral mentor based on mutual research interests. Past projects have included polymer nanocomposites, nanopyramid fabrications, synthesis of functional molecules, electronic band structure calculations and granular material experiments. |
