| Description: | Students will perform frontier research in optics, quantum and nonlinear optics, and in relevant areas of materials science, biophysics, and nanoscience. Both experimental and theoretical research projects are available. The REU program is on the University of Arkansas campus in the scenic Ozark Mountains. Students will be housed in a dormitory and provided a meal plan and travel reimbursements. In addition to research and research-related activities, there will be planned social activities, a float down the Buffalo National River, and a field trip to high-technology and nano-technology companies in the Dallas area as well as a day at Six Flags in Dallas. |
