| Description: | Svalbard REU The Svalbard REU project is now seeking applications from motivated junior-year students to join our program for summer 2012. Students will formulate their own research questions and carry-out the associated field work during a five week field program on Svalbard. Students will complete their projects at their home institution during their senior year. The program will run from approximately 6 July to 21 August 2012. More information can be found at http://www.mtholyoke.edu/go/svalbard. Students from under-represented minority groups are particularly encouraged to apply. Students selected for the Svalbard REU Project will have all of their expenses paid (air fare, room/board, and research costs) and will receive a summer stipend. The National Science Foundation requires participating students to be U.S. citizens or permanent residents. Application deadline is 15 January 2012. |
