| Description: | Research projects are aimed at providing students with multidisciplinary team experience in sustainable bioenergy. Projects are designed to enhance understanding of agricultural, technical, and socioeconomic issues related to sustainable production of biofuels. Students and faculty from these departments will work together on interdisciplinary bioenergy issue teams for their research projects: Agricultural Economics Agronomy Biological and Agricultural Engineering Chemical Engineering Grain Science and Industry Sociology |

| Additional Information: | Research activities in this program under the guidance of faculty mentors, will advance students' state of knowledge in sustainable energy. Students will participate in "hands-on" experiences with processing agricultural biomass, experiencing the physical environment of industrial-scale biomass processing with all its limitations and opportunities. Students will also meet people who actually perform the work to produce renewable energy for the communities where they live. Many field trips and social events are planned as well. While at K-State, participants will also learn about our National Science Foundation IGERT program, applicable to those students pursuing Ph.D. degrees. http://igert.ksu.edu/application |
