| Description: | In 2007, in addition to its UCLA location Research in Industrial Projects for Students 9-week summer program will also be held in Beijing, China. Ten U.S. students and ten Chinese students will work on cross-cultural teams on 5 projects, each sponsored by an MSRA research group. The dates and basic format of the program are the same as RIPS-LA (Please read about RIPS-LA program also posted on the Nucleus website). Industrial sponsors provide research projects and oversight. Students learn how to develop a work plan, do literature searches, research design and methodology, and presentation skills. They work closely with Faculty Mentors assigned to each team and industrial sponsors. English is the only language required for participation. U.S. citizens and permanent residents are eligible to apply through IPAM; the application form will allow you to indicate your interest in RIPS-Beijing. Chinese participants will apply through MSRA.
