|Description:||Funding from the NASA Exploration Systems Mission Directorate (ESMD) allows the New York Space Grant Consortium to provide $5,000 stipends and $1,000 travel/relocation allowances for 10-week summer internships at various NASA centers, such as Ames Research Center, Glenn Research Center, Goddard Space Flight Center, Johnson Space Center, Kennedy Space Center, and Marshall Space Flight Center. Students will engage in projects that specifically address the ESMD goal of creating new capabilities and technologies that enable sustained and affordable human and robotic space exploration. Design, engineering, and research opportunities are available in the following areas: spacecraft, propulsion, lunar and planetary surface systems, and ground operations.

To receive NY Space Grant support, student must (1) be a United States citizen, and (2) be a New York state resident or attend a New York college/university. Additional eligibility requirements are listed at the top of the ESMD application form.
