| Description: | The New York Space Grant Consortium will provide $5,000 stipends and $1,000 travel/relocation allowances for 10-week undergraduate student internships at the following NASA centers: 1) Jet Propulsion Laboratory (Pasadena, CA) 2) Kennedy Space Center (Cape Canaveral, FL) 3) Langley Research Center (Hampton, VA) 4) Marshall Space Flight Center (Huntsville, AL) ELIGIBILITY: To receive Space Grant funding, undergradate student must (1) be a United States citizen, and (2) be a New York state resident or attend a New York college/university. Additional eligibility details for each center's internship opportunity are as follows: 1) Jet Propulsion Laboratory: - Rising juniors, seniors, or entering first-year graduate students - GPA of 3.0 or better 2) Kennedy Space Center: - Rising sophomores, juniors, seniors, or entering first-year graduate students 3) Langley Research Center: - Rising juniors, seniors, or entering first-year graduate students - GPA of 3.0 or better 4) Marshall Space Flight Center: - Rising sophomores, juniors, seniors, or entering first-year graduate students APPLICATION: In order to receive funding, students must apply directly to the NY Space Grant using the application available on the NYSG website. Students will be chosen on a competitive basis for forwarding to the NASA centers' internship/program directors for further selection and placement. NOTE: For Langley, students should apply directly to the LARSS program using the on-line LARSS application process (deadline: Feb. 1, 2007). Students chosen for forwarding to NASA centers will be notified in mid-February. |
