| Description: | Spend the summer in the exciting Washington DC area, working on interdisciplinary materials research projects. Approximately 7 - 10 summer undergraduate research fellowships, funded by the National Science Foundation and the University of Maryland, will be awarded for summer 2009. Priority will be given to sophomores and juniors with science, chemistry, and engineering backgrounds. Underrepresented minorities and women are highly encouraged to apply. The program runs from June 1, 2010 - August 6, 2010. During the ten-week period, students will work with MRSEC faculty on interdisciplinary materials research projects involving chemistry, physics, materials science, and engineering. Applicants must be US citizens or permanent residents. No previous research experience is required to participate in the program. |
