| Description: | Exciting research positions for undergraduates are available in chemistry, physics, and materials science. State of the art projects include synthesis and characterization of magnetic materials; synthesis and characterization of nanoparticles; development of nanoscale biosensors; development of nanocrystalline metal oxides as prospective optical, magnetic, and biomedical materials; evaluating the chemistry and physics of nanoparticle-polymer composite materials; investigating photochemistry and free radical chemistry in environmental systems; preparation and characterization of nanomaterials for biomedical applications; and other relevant projects. The Advanced Materials Research Institute (AMRI) and the Department of Chemistry have state of the art research facilities including a wide range of sophisticated instrumentation. |
