| Description: | The 2009 Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) Site on Multifunctional Nanomaterials at West Virginia University (WVNano NSF REU) offers a unique combination of multidisciplinary research, educational programs, and fun team-building activities (rock climbing, white-water rafting, etc). Participants will be involved in ongoing research programs in the field of nanotechnology with an emphasis on advanded materials and biosensors. Participants receive a stipend of $4200, some travel expenses, and room/board in exchange for 10-weeks (May 26-July 31) of cutting edge research in faculty laboratories across the WVU campus. Applicants should be rising Sophomore, Junior, or Senior undergraduate students majoring in science, engineering, or mathematics. Underrepresented minorities and women from West Virginia and Appalachia are especially encouraged to apply.
