| Description: | The objective of the Boston College REU program is to provide research experience in our closely-knit and highly interactive community. Most research projects will be in condensed matter physics, particularly study of complex materials, but opportunities will also be available in other fields. The number of students in the program will be 10, two of whom will be Boston College students. The program will start with a week of orientation and introductory lectures and will conclude with a mini-symposium of students' presentations. Every week, students will engage in research, attend topical faculty lectures, participate in student seminars, tour local science facilities, and enjoy numerous social functions serving to foster close, collegial interactions among all participants and our faculty. |
