| Description: | A ten-week summer research opportunity for students majoring in Physics and related fields. Students work on campus in faculty labs and/or in collaborations at nearby national labs (NASA, LLLNL, SLAC) and Silicon Valley industrial R&D facilities. Research fields include astronomy/astrophysics, optics/lasers, materials characterization, gravitational wave detection, atmospheric physics. |

| Additional Information: | Students must be undergraduates majoring in physics or a related field. Successful applicants have normally completed 2 or 3 years of undergraduate study. Note that NSF rules require all students funded by the program be U.S. citizens or U.S. Permanent Residents. Housing and travel support are available to qualified applicants. |
