Description: The New York Space Grant Consortium will provide a $4,000 stipend and $1,000 travel/relocation grant for up to 2 New York students selected to attend the prestigious NASA Academy during summer 2009. Academy interns' housing and other programmatic costs are supplied by the Academy programs. As always, these opportunities are contingent upon continued funding from NASA.

NASA Academy is an intense professional, training, and research experience for undergraduate and graduate students to hone their technical and leadership skills in science and engineering. Besides conducting individual research and group projects, Academy students attend seminars and travel to various site visits.

ELIGIBILITY:
To receive NY Space Grant funding, a full-time student must (1) be a United States citizen, and (2) be a New York state resident or attend a New York college/university, and (3) be a rising junior or senior undergraduate, or first-year graduate student.

January 26, 2009 is the direct application deadline for NASA Academy at Ames, Glenn, and Marshall.

Students chosen for these programs will be notified in March/April 2009.
