|Description:||The NSF engineering Research Center for Mid-InfraRed Technologies for Health & the Environment is focused on providing students with the opportunity to carry out reasearch in the forefront of mid-IR spectroscopu and engineering. MIRTHE advances turnable laser sources, quantum cascade lasers, dectors and ultra-sensitive sensor systems and demonstrating specific applications through testbeds in environmental sensing, homeland secruity and medical diagnostics.|
|Stipend:||$500/week for REUs; $1000/ week for RETs|
|Additional Information:||Must be a US citizen or permanent resident. Include a short essay on your research preferences and motivation to join this REU. Letter of recommendation & trascript also required.
Program end with a week long workshop (August 2 - 7, 2009) in New York City where you will presesnt your rearch at the MIRTHE Summer Workshop.
