| Description: | CASPER's Summer High School Scholars Program (sponsored by Baylor University, TSTC and CASPER) provides AP high school students (juniors and seniors) access to an inter-disciplinary hands-on training environment through concurrent enrollment coursework in computer interfacing, computer diagnostics, vacuum systems, and electro-optics components. Additionally, students are divided into work teams and routed through CASPER's Space Science Lab and Hypervelocity Impacts & Dusty Plasmas Lab, working alongside National Science Foundation undergraduate REU fellows, graduate students, and schoolteachers funded through the National Science Foundation's RET program. High schoolers experience the Space Science Lab's diagnostics, laser, and accelerator labs and attend seminars with CASPER leadership focusing on current topics in space science. |
