| Description: | Our university focuses on astronomy programs as we have a nice telescope for kids to come check out, and things related to materials science since that is UNO's research specialty. Our programs target the 6th-8th grade age range, although general physics programs that target broader age groups are possible. The past few years we have sponsored Einstein Week, a week of physics-related shows and talks with an emphasis on getting the public more aware of what we do. Some events, like the observatory night, are geared slightly more toward younger crowds, while other talks and gatherings are more for college-aged students and adults. Outreach events are free, although donations are accepted. |
