If by 'the dark ages' you mean the time before the first stars were shining, then any radiation can still freely move through space since the universe is no longer a plasma. |

Hi, my name is Nicole (obviously). I am a third year undergrad at Lycoming College. (Who? It''s in the middle of Pennsylvania.) I am a dual major in physics and astronomy. Last summer I did radio astronomy at MIT''s Haystack Observatory and I''m looking for another research opportunity for this upcoming summer. (Although my last REU was the coolest in Massachussetts, oh yeah!) |

Hey my name is Matt and I am an undergrad in physics at bowling green state university in ohio. I got into physics in seventh grade when I tried to do my science fair project on the special theory of relativity. Lets just say it didn''t work out too well. Ever since then I have been hooked. I don''t know what I will end up doing but I am looking into about everything I can get my self into. Right now I am enjoying being on the Electric Falcon Race team which is an indy style race car that runs on batteries. We race against other universities around the country. Other than that I am an avid SPSer, and enjoy doing just about anything outdoors. |

Matt doesn''t have good access to a computer right now, so I can''t tell you when he''ll be able to respond to your questions. As for myself, I just got involved, so I''m still learning the ropes. I know that they''ve told me before, but I can''t remember what it is. |

Yeah, this is one of the major projects we've been working on here. The problem is according to our calculations it will shoot the projectile at a greater velocity than we could possibly accomidate (and the rail gun will probably explode). :) But we're working furiously! |

Just starting to explore ideas for some optics projects. I'm hoping to get involved with some of the companies out here in Colorado that do a huge amount of research. Within an hour's drive, we have a Lockheed Martin plant, Ball Aerospace, NOAA and a couple of smaller firms that work on laser and lidar systems. |
