Can someone please help me out on the below problem?

PROBLEM: How do we find out the force exerted by A on B ?
                Will the calculation vary if Body B does not
                deform?
SITUATION:
Body A hits body B causing a deformation of body B. Assume
B is a cuboid.
Known values:
1) Mass of body A
2) Mass of body B
3) Velocity before impact of body A
4) Velocity before impactof body B
5) Dimensions of the B before and after impact (for simplicity
    sake, let's assume that B has reduced in length by x
    meters and there is no other change in the dimension)
6) Assume that both body A & B come to rest after impact.

I need a little clarification.  Do both bodies come to rest immediately after the collision, or after traveling some distance?

Both bodies come to rest immediately after collision.
Like say, when a car goes and hits a tree......something like that.

Assuming A is not deformed, you can use energy considerations to find the force on B.

Does it mean that there would be no difference in the calculation, when Body B deforms and when it does not?

And what would be difference if Body A too had deformed during the collision?

If both objects come to rest, something had to happen to their kinetic energy.  If only B deforms, all of the energy went into B.  If both objects deform, energy went to both.  If neither deforms, the energy must have gone somewhere else.
