It is my last Friday at ACP this summer, but it is not my last day of work!  I think AAPT was relieved to know they could still get some work out of me until Tuesday.

Picking up from the weekend, Kunal, Logan, and I took the metro to Chinatown at 2:30am Saturday morning.  We had a late night planning session for our day trip to NYC which did not leave much time for sleeping.  Had we left 10 minutes later, we would have missed our bus which left 20 minutes earlier than it should have.  New Century Travel has an interesting travel policy because there isn't one!

The three of us arrived in NYC at 7:30am and went to the nearest subway station.  We bought day passes and successfully navigated our way to Tom's Restaurant, or better known as the diner from Seinfeld.  The next 12 hours of the day that I'm going to try and recap is definitely the most sightseeing that I have done all summer.  Next on the agenda was Central Park, and specifically Strawberry Fields, the John Lennon Memorial.  MoMA, the Museum of Modern Arts opened at 10:30am and we arrived shortly after.  Following Linda's advice we got there early and started from the top.  We were out of there in 2 hours and continued on with our itinerary.  Kunal went to meet some family friends while Logan and I trekked down 5th Avenue to Trump Towers, Tiffany's and Co., and then stopping in at FAO Schwartz.  We just missed eating at Hello Deli, seen on The Late Show with David Letterman, but Angelo's Pizza which is right next to Ed Sullivan Theatre was delicious.  We even ran into a fellow Texan there!  Back to the streets, we strolled in and out of Times Square ending up at Rockefeller Center.  The Top of the Rock view was amazing!  After the tour, we passed by Ground Zero and then walked to Battery Park to see Lady Liberty and the waterfalls.  After a Chinatown meal, we got on our bus and headed home.  We spent exactly 24 hours outside of DC!

The White House picnic was on Sunday afternoon and Gary prepared a traditional Cajun Etouffee!  My friend Colette was able to join us for the evening and I think the food brought back memories of what we are missing back home.  Watching everyone rock out on Rock Band was entertaining, too!

On Wednesday, the interns delivered their final presentations.  Everyone did a great job and it was nice to have some returning interns there to share their experiences with the program.  My job this summer was open-ended to I am very thankful to Kendra for getting me started on helping with COPUS!  Currently, I am trying to wrap up everything that I have started and I am still doing web updates for AAPT.

Now, I would like to thank everyone in AAPT for welcoming me as a part of the team this summer and I appreciate the care package that was put together for me!  I'm all set for school with some pens, pencils, a calculator, t-shirt, an AAPT bag, a Levitron toy to keep me occupied and more!  Thank you for a great summer on the 5th floor!

I had Saturday to myself since my roommate was gone for the day and our sightseeing trio was now a duo.  After lunch, Kunal was brave enough to go to Pentagon City Mall with me to do some shopping!

On Sunday, Paul, Jenna, Kunal, Daniel, and I left for Chesapeake Beach.  We ate at a crab house that was definitely overpriced for their food and service, but it was fun watching the mess Jenna and Paul made ripping off crab legs and searching for any signs of crab meat.  The beach reminded me of Galveston beach, so I was not really interested in swimming.  Instead I soaked up some sun and watched the others jump the waves and play in the surf.

This week has been devoted to adding more AAPT resources, programs, and events to the COPUS page.  I'm not too crazy about the layout, but I realized that I can stick HTML code into the form so I'm modifying the submissions I've already made to add more links and hopefully make the layout a bit more eye catching and organized.  I'm not sure how much more I can get done before my presentation, but it is definitely a work in progress and I have quite a bit to show off so far.

Another project that I'm juggling right now is Science Chicago:  Life's a Lab.  The Museum of Science and Industry is hosting a year of science for the Chicago region and I'm submitting detailed descriptions about AAPT's resources and events for their partner page to be debuted this September.  I hope to give more insight to these projects in my final presentation, which is Wednesday, July 30th at the American Center for Physics!  Be there!

We have a NASA tour this afternoon that I am looking forward to!  This weekend has lots of fun in store, too.  Logan, Kunal, and I are heading to NYC this Saturday on a bus at 3:30am, and we have a picnic at the White House, (Gary White that is) on Sunday!

I finally realized that we now have a lucky 13 days left of our summer here as SPS interns, but I am anticipating my new life as a graduate student at Texas A&M University more and more each day.  Having been able to spend a second summer working here let me realize that I've made great contacts with very important people and I wouldn't trade it for my parent's couch any day!  I look forward to keeping ties with the amazing AIP network here at ACP and promoting the SPS National Office in any way I can!

Saturday morning was the earliest I have had to get up all summer.  Our bus to Philadelphia left at 8:00am, but were able to get in a good nap on the ride to Philly.  It took us about 2.5 hours to get there, and since we were pressed for time, the sightseeing began immediately.  We headed straight for the visitor's center to get in line for tickets to Independence Hall.  After buying a few souvenirs at the gift shop, we walked across the street to see the Liberty Bell.  I was pleased after seeing it because it was just how I imagined a 1 ton cracked bell to look.  

After the bell, it was time for lunch because Daniel was getting cranky.  We took cabs to the intersection of Pat's and Geno's.  I immediately jumped in line at Pat's not really knowing what I was doing, but I was following suit and it was the one we were closest to.  I could not have asked for a better meal.  1. It was free because I paid the cab fare.  2.  What is better than steak and cheese on some bread with fries on the side and a Pepsi to wash it all down?  3. Did I mention that I did not have to pay?  Thanks Bobby!  Everyone was satisfied with a full tummy and I think I might be somewhat of a Philly Cheesesteak snob now.

We took another cab, which was a van, back to Independence Hall, and on the way, a horse pulling a buggy would have been in our back seat if it wasn't for the back window.  I guess Kunal and I got so excited to see the horse up close that it decided to look right back at us.  The driver did not seem very pleased.  The National Parks Service provided the tour guide for Independence Hall and she was really informative.  Many things in the hall are not authentic, but the décor has been redone in the same way it would have looked at the signing of the Declaration of Independence.  So that means that every room looked exactly the same.  We also visited Congress Hall and the Second Bank of Philadelphia which is now a portrait gallery of the presidents.  That was about all we had time for that day since we had to catch the last bus back to DC at 5:00pm.

I slept through Sunday morning, but I made it to the Nationals vs. Astros game that afternoon.  The seats were great, Kunal bought my food, and Houston got the win.  Good deal!

The weeks are just as eventful as the weekends.  My meetings with Kendra are going great and even though the summer is almost over, I think I have found a good way to wrap up my internship with AAPT.  Right now I am working to help AAPT become a resource for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) students and people in STEM careers.  The Coalition for the Public Understanding of Science (COPUS) is a networking community for science organizations to start collaborating and share resources such as teaching materials or information on upcoming science events.  I think it will be a great way to expose all of the things AAPT has to offer as well as get more people informed about physics and teaching.  Another project I am working on is fulfilling AAPT's partnership duties in Science Chicago: Life's a Lab.  Chicago is hosting a year of science for their region, and they want AAPT to help in the celebration.  This is a perfect opportunity for AAPT since the winter meeting is in Chicago in February.  Also, the Sigma Pi Sigma Quadrennial Congress will be at Fermilab this November.  I have to admit that I like this whole physics marketing thing.

This week my roommate provided everyone with kindergarten dinner.  The pigs in a blanket, ants on a log, chicken nuggets, and dirt cups were awesome!  I had kool-aid to drink, but that isn't unusual.  Yesterday we had a Pentagon Tour!  I was amazed at how easy it was to get a tour, but either way, it would have been worth it.  Our tour guide was a marine from Texas and he did a great job telling us about the history of the building and what its future holds as well.  I did imagine them erasing our minds at the very end just like in the movie Men in Black, but they didn't, unless I just don't remember that part because they actually did.  Who knows?  Last night was BBQ at the Dylla's!  The food was delicious, the games were fun, and I was ambushed in the water gun fight.

The Fourth of July started and ended with a bang from the marching bands to the fireworks display.  After the parade, Logan, Kunal, and I headed towards Arlington Cemetery.  We watched the Changing of the Guard and it started to rain on us in the middle of it.  Then we walked to John F. Kennedy's gravesite and hiked up to Arlington House.  The three of us made it back downtown just in time for the fireworks show.  It was bigger and better than I remembered.

I wasn't really happy about another early Saturday morning, but I was excited that Daniel decided to join us for the Air and Space Museum!  We made sure to get there as soon as the museum opened to buy IMAX tickets and we ended up purchasing tickets to see "To Fly" and a planetarium show titled Black Holes:  The Other Side of Infinity, and a flight simulator ride.  The more tickets you bought to different attractions, the more money you saved on each ticket, so how could we say no?  The IMAX was not in 3D which was a little disappointing, and I thought the storyline was odd, too.  Some guy was in a hot air balloon looking down at people and making then uncomfortable throughout the whole movie.  The planetarium show definitely made up for it.  Liam Neeson narrated as we traveled through galaxies and then got sucked into black holes.  Daniel had to leave after lunch in the café, but the guys and I stayed until closing.  We read more about the universe and got to play with some cool infrared cameras.  There was a demo room for kids to play in and it was neat to be able to recognize a lot of the same activities that we use in our road shows.  I did not forget about my flight simulator ride where I was serving as "gunner."  If someone "who shall remain nameless" was a better "pilot" then maybe I could have shot down more than just two enemy aircraft.

After nearly 8 hours at the museum, we went to the Folklife Festival to hear the last concert.  Guy Clark and Marcia Ball each put on a great performance.  Of course I had to buy their CDs and I was able to get an autograph from Marcia Ball.  To close out our Fourth of July weekend, the interns gathered 555 ft in the air at the top of the Washington Monument.  It was 530 ft (to be exact) from the observation windows we were looking through.  I was able to take some great pictures of downtown DC, but Daniel was too busy pressing his face against the glass to try and see what the drop off looked like approximately 55 stories up.

Tuesday evening Jack Hehn and John Layman treated some of the interns to dinner and the theater.  We ate at Ted's Montana Grill in Crystal City.  I had a cup of bison chili that was really good, but despite my roommate's persistence, I refused to look at the mounted bison head on the wall until we left.  The Mystery of Irma Vep was my first professional theater performance.  I enjoyed the show and humor of watching two men perform multiple characters in the play.

I got the opportunity to meet Wisconsin Senator Herb Kohl on Wednesday morning followed by a Capitol tour thanks to Justin.  We were able to sit in and listen to a few senators, but missed a vote shortly after leaving.  Logan, Justin, and I had lunch at Thunder Grill at Union Station before heading to work.  They had a $10 crab cake.

The pace at work is still picking up speed.  Between helping everyone get ready for the summer meeting, I am writing a few news articles.  I just finished one about an AAPT member who received an American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) award.  Now, I'm waiting to hear back from a guy who was a student competitor on the Physics Olympiad Team and is now a part of Princeton University's research faculty.  My meeting with Kendra went well, too.  I am looking forward to doing some internet investigating on valuable resources to be posted in the Coalition for the Public Understanding of Science (COPUS) Student Hub, as well as trying to figure out how to get the Adopt-A-Physicist Program some more exposure to teachers and industry.

Half of us had an early start on Saturday as we headed for Union Station to catch our train to Baltimore!  The other half of the intern group drove with Paul.  We all met at the National Aquarium in Baltimore in the Inner Harbor.  Underwater life has always been a favorite of mine, so I knew the day would be fun as I anticipated the Dolphin Show and the 4D Immersion Theater!  I thought the dolphins' tricks were really impressive, but I probably could have done without some of the 4D show like the part where I was spit on, had a stick shoved into my back, and rats crawling around my legs.  We took a lunch break before heading back into the aquarium to see the shark exhibit.  As we were exiting, it was feeding time for the rays and a giant 350 lb rescued sea turtle, too.

A day in Baltimore would not be complete without a Chessie boat ride in the Inner Harbor.  I got a pretty good deal since Logan and Kunal were willing to paddle me around for 30 minutes as I soaked up some sun.  It might have been a little more relaxing if Daniel and Justin weren't crashing into us every time we were near, but I don't think it bothered Paul much!  He had what looked like a very relaxing ride woman-powered by Jenna and Mary.  After the boat ride, we cooled off in a nearby shopping center.  I had a lot of fun in this hat shop and I thought Daniel made an excellent purchase!

We still had a little bit of energy left in us before dinner and decided on checking out the Bodyworld's 2 Exhibit at the Maryland Science Center.  I saw this exhibit for the first time last summer in DC, but I thought this one was much better.  The focus of the tour was the human brain, and once again, I definitely recommend it!  The day is now almost over, and it is time for dinner at a fancy place called Oceanaire.  I ate here in January with Dr. Sauncy during the AAPT Winter Meeting, and I remembered it being a very friendly place with the best MD crabcakes you can find.  I called ahead to make reservations just in case, and I'm not sure if there was a misunderstanding on the "status" of our party, but we definitely had the best seat in the place!  I think everyone enjoyed themselves and their meal!

Logan, Kunal, Mary, Justin, and I decided to wander around the Smithsonian Folklife Festival on Sunday.  I was really excited when I found out that Texas was one of the themes, so I am happy to say that I had some brisket, sausage, and sweet tea!  The music was awesome and I couldn't resist buying some CDs from the artists that were in town like The Gillette Brothers.  Kunal bought me a very nice hand-painted bracelet, too!

This week at work I'm writing a CNSF recap about the SPS Interns that were exhibiting on Capitol Hill.  I have also been doing some more web updates for AAPT.  I am really looking forward to meeting with Kendra next week to talk about some of the projects she is working on and to figure out how I can contribute.

One evening highlight this week was dinner at Dr. Mary Satterfield's house in Rockville, MD.  Pretty cool coincidence that our ASU geology professor Dr. Joe's sister happens to work at NIST!  She invited the ASU Crew over for the evening and her husband Tom made us some delicious sour cream chicken enchiladas, fajita tacos with rice and beans, too!  After dinner we walked to a Gelato place for some delicious Italian ice cream.

Week 4 was very busy and exciting! Kike (Enrique) made it into DC around 7pm and joined us for dinner at Sine, an Irish Pub in Pentagon Row. The potato soup was delicious, and I think my love for soups may be rubbing off on Kunal. After watching some of the folks play a weird and complicated card game with some kind of homemade battery-operated die that Paul made, we decided to call it an early night. Congrats on the win roommate!

MLK, for Meagan, Logan, and Kunal, (thanks Liz!), got up early and went to breakfast with Enrique before he headed out once again. We all noticed a lot more people on our block than usual and realized it was GWU Freshmen Orientation Weekend. Being the intelligent physics students that we are, we also realized that this meant the GWU Bookstore would be open for shopping! We have yet to make it home early enough to run in there during the week, but after taking a look around, that may have been a good thing. I was immediately overwhelmed by all of the cool stuff they had, but we decided to pace ourselves since there are at least 3 more orientations to go!

After getting our shopping fix the guys and I headed to the Museum of Natural History. This is my favorite museum! We watched a 3D IMAX show about Sea Monsters and spent a good 5 hours there including eating at the Atrium Caf?. I could not have asked for a better way to spend half a day! They are currently building an underwater exhibit that I will have to come back and see some time. The Hope Diamond is also a main attraction there, especially for me. I noticed the gift shop sells miniature replicas, but I entered and left the store very quickly. We also walked through the Smithsonian Castle. They are exhibiting Olympic Medals right now. There is not as much to see here as other museums, but just looking at the architecture and the garden out back was nice as well as learning more about Mr. Smithsonian himself.

MLK made a vow to do a lot of sightseeing this weekend and so we did. Sunday was not a day of rest, but instead more shopping, and a quick walk through of the National Gallery of Art before making our way to the National Building Museum. I was not very impressed with the outside, but the inside was amazing. We walked through two exhibits and of course spent quite some time in the gift shop. They have all kinds of weird robotic toys and stuff that you re convinced will make your life easier in some way. The prices did not agree with any of us, but I am sure we will be back.

Monday was actually welcomed with a sigh of relief this week because it was a break from walking outside and oohing or aahing over gems, stuffed animals, and bones. It was also ACP Picnic Day. The interns were hosting the Rainbow Room and Sound Waves Room. It is always fun to see the kids get excited, but I noticed a lot of big kids in the rooms enjoying themselves, too! The food was good and I even made some spin art that has already been stolen. I will have to think of a reward for the person that returns the painting to its rightful owner. A big congrats to AAPT for winning the egg relay!

The Coalition for National Science Funding Exhibit or CNSF was on Wednesday evening. I enjoyed myself much more this time around! Of course the free food and drinks are a plus, but it was a great opportunity for me to show off my schmoozing skills that I've been working on since my SPS internship last summer! Jenna, Mary, and Logan were exhibiting and I managed to bring National Science Foundation Director Arden Bement and Michigan Congressman Vernon Ehlers to the booth, just to name a few of course. It was a great night that ended with a delicious meal at Capitol City Brewery thanks to Fred and Linda Dylla.

The interns are spending this Saturday in Baltimore and that's all she wrote!

My last journal ended just as I was packing up my things before heading to Tuckahoe Elementary School to perform some outreach demonstrations for Ms. Coffman's Third Grade Class. There wasn't as much time for preparation as for the Yorktown HS demo, but you can't complain when you get such a positive response from the kids. Rather than trying to explain a polarization demo to exhibit how light is like wave, we focused on sounds waves. This was really the perfect route to go because the opener for our act was the International Whistling Champion, Chris Ullman! Ok, so it is really hard to follow a guy that can whistle Happy Birthday to the Star Spangled Banner to Beethoven! Even then, I think the kids were pleased with the Boomwhackers and their homemade trombone using drinking straws.

The weekend involved plenty of shopping. I get these coupons in my email and I'm convinced that I have to use them especially when they are from one of my favorite stores, but I'm pleased with my purchases. After I finished raiding the mall, I went to meet the rest of the interns at the National Zoo! This was a lot of fun and I walked through some exhibits that I didn't see last summer. My favorite part was the baby elephant and my least favorite was one part inside the invertebrate exhibit. There was a section on spiders that didn't have any glass! I immediately went the other way to check out the amazing ant farm instead. After the zoo, all of us worked up an appetite and decided on trying Thai. I thought Paul and Justin made an interesting choice having duck, but I stuck to my beef, chicken, and shrimp with mixed vegetables.

This week's workload definitely went up a notch. It started on Monday with CommonSpot Training. It turned out that I was really the only one who had to pay attention because now I am the go-to-gal when anyone needs help. I'm also doing some individual training sessions. Outside of web updates, I am helping to prepare for the new faculty arriving next week. My desk has stacks of paper lined up all around me, but if you disrupt my system, then there is a possibility you might get spit on! (please see Jesus' journal from last summer)

I have been feeling a little sick the past couple of days, but Kunal made me a delicious pasta dinner last night that has just about cured me. Shoutout: I want everyone to know that I have a wonderful roommate, Jenna! She did offer to make me some soup, too. So, last night I saw my first Indiana Jones movie and I liked it. I immediately caught on to the cheesy-ness but Logan quickly reassured me that it was the norm. Tonight I'm looking forward to seeing last summer's NIST intern, Enrique! He's passing through DC as he moves to graduate school. I'm also hoping for another lunch date with my friend Colette!

Even though the home team didn't get a win on Friday night, I still enjoyed the baseball game, greasy food, and the gift shop! The fireworks were a nice treat to end our first week of work.

So I guess the guys and I didn't quite get the hint from the hot and humid weather at the baseball game. We continued to venture out Saturday morning with what most noted as an ambitious schedule. First we had a light breakfast at Union Station and then looked around at some of the gift shops. I definitely have a thing for soup-sized coffee mugs, t-shirts, and large bags. Then we headed for the Supreme Court, U.S. Capitol, and the Library of Congress. It was so hot outside that I was weaving back and forth on the pathways trying to stay in whatever shade I could find. I didn't get a chance to go into the LoC last summer, so this was exciting. We wandered around for a good hour looking at the architecture and exploring the exhibit on Bob Hope. Logan noticed that a tour was starting, so Kunal and I decided to stick around, too. Next on the list was lunch in Chinatown. We went to a Japanese/Chinese place that was expensive, but the food was good and came out fast. After we stuffed our stomachs with fried crab puffs, sushi, chicken, beef, and rice, we once again went out into the heat to the National Archives. Here we saw the Magna Carta, Declaration of Independence, Constitution, and the Bill of Rights. I find the museum really interesting, too. We saw a copy of Albert Einstein s official U.S. Citizenship. After a day like that, going out in the evening was not an option. Instead we opted for eating leftovers, hanging out in the room, and a friendly game of Spades. I'll just get right to the point. Jenna and I beat Logan and Kunal!!!

Sunday was spent mostly at the shopping mall and getting more groceries for the week. For having no kitchen cabinets, I must say that Jenna and I know how to stock a fridge and imaginary pantry!

The week has gone by extremely fast which is weird considering all of the metro problems. Monday started off with a derailment, the heat wave caused a kink in the rail on the orange line on Wednesday, and then a fire and power outages slowed down the red line on Friday. Other than that, everything else is going rather smoothly. I spent Wednesday morning at Yorktown High School with some fellow interns performing a prospective lesson on waves with an emphasis in polarization for the SOCKs Kit. I've been a faithful outreach team member for 3 years now at Angelo State University, and I love it every time. I think we were all slightly wary of what kind of responses we would get, but we all did our best and the performance was excellent. We saw three different physics classes and some students even sacrificed their lunch period to see us. I was really impressed with their expertise, vocabulary, and enthusiasm. They definitely helped make our job a lot easier. This afternoon we are scheduled to visit Tuckahoe Elementary School. The lesson plan has been modified for the third graders, so I will post next week about how it went.

Weekend plans consist of finally meeting up with one of my best friends from grade school. She is a recent graduate from the University of Rochester and she is working for the National Parks Service this summer in Virginia. I'm looking forward to using her as my ticket out of the city this summer for a chance to visit the park she is working at.

I was lucky enough to arrive in DC just before the welcoming rain shower, but my roommate Jenna, was not so fortunate. While her plane circled Reagan National, and then parked itself on the runway for over an hour, Logan and I trekked over to the dorms to try and check-in and help the rest of the arriving interns. We all made it in by the evening (minus Barbara), and got to know each other at dinner in Pentagon City.

Orientation was on Monday, and it was great to see everyone at ACP! I am once again enjoying the refreshing atmosphere and I am quickly settling in on the top floor with AAPT. So far I've been learning the old web design software and helping to update the website, but I will be attending a training session in the next couple of weeks as AAPT transitions to an updated version. I'm definitely an experienced beginner when it comes to programming, but with all of the user-friendly software these days, I don t think I'll run into much trouble.

So far the weather has refused us an enjoyable day outside whether it s raining or too humid, but it hasn't stopped us. I've made my way a few times to see the Lincoln Memorial, Reflecting Pool, Vietnam Veterans Memorial, and Korean War Veterans Memorial in the evening. One night, we decided to take a walk to the White House, but just seeing the North lawn wasn't good enough for Logan and Kunal. We were heading around towards the ellipse just as it started raining. Not being able to see very well and since almost every path we wanted to take was blocked off, we decided on asking someone for help. Well, there aren't many people strolling near the White House at 11:30 pm, unless you re from Angelo State University, or you happen to be in the Secret Service, so we stopped this nice man in the pouring rain who was wearing a dark suit, flashing a nice gold badge on his hip, and wearing a not so discrete ear piece. He was very helpful and gave us a list of his favorite must sees in DC while standing under our umbrella.

Well, it's Friday, and the interns are getting treated to a Washington Nationals Baseball Game tonight! I went to several baseball games last year, but I'm looking forward to seeing the new baseball park! I'll be scouting tonight for the Houston Astros as I find the best spot to see them next month when they come to town.

Howdy!

My name is Meagan Saldua and I just graduated from Angelo State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Applied Physics and Mathematics!!!  Woo!!!

I am from Stafford, Texas, which is located near the southwest side of Houston.  Being a recent graduate, I had the option of moving back home for the summer and assuming the "couch potato" position, but I was lucky enough to get the chance to spend a second summer in Washington, DC, and work at the American Center for Physics!  This was not a difficult decision for me because I had so much fun working for the American Physical Society on the PhysicsQuest Kit last summer, that I knew I had to go back for more.

Now that I actually have a bit of spare time, I really enjoy physics outreach.  I am actually on the ASU SPS West Texas Road Trip right now!  Our team includes 9 students and of course we brought along the Society of Physics Students Outstanding Chapter Advisor for 2007, Dr. Toni Sauncy.  We have been performing physics demos all week long, and we are looking forward to our last two shows tomorrow before we float the Llano River.

Outside of SPS, I enjoy dancing, cooking, sports, being outside, and my dogs!  I think I am a laid back person that definitely loves to laugh!  I like a good challenge and I never want to stop learning.

In the fall, I will be attending Texas A&M University to start working towards my PhD in Biomedical Engineering.  I have an interest in optical imaging and I am hoping to one day work in a research lab before entering academia.  I am drawn to biomedical engineering because it is a multidisciplinary field that aims at helping others, which is very important to me.  I am ready to help make a difference in people's lives.

This summer, I will be working for the American Association of Physics Teachers helping to update their website.  I look forward to traveling with my fellow ASU Interns (Logan and Kunal), reuniting with everyone at ACP, seeing some familiar faces (Jenna and Justin), and of course, meeting the other interns!
