WWU Physics has a strong core group of Physics Education researchers, many of whom have experience with teacher training and support (including NSF-supported programs for pre- and in-service teacher training and support). One of the faculty members is also director of the Science Math and Technology Education program at WWU, and has been instrumental in reform of teacher training and in service curriculum development and deployment. This group is interested in developing a program designed to recruit and train physics teachers, drawing upon the experiences of the collective group.
