We have been conducting Physics by Inquiry professional development workshops each summer since 1996. We teach a workshop for twenty teachers in grades 5-12 and another workshop for twenty teachers in grades K-5. We have had 316 teachers complete the grades 5-12 program and 269 completed the grades K-5 program. We have also been conducting QuarkNet workshops each summer for local high school physics teachers. Drs. Endorf and Koenig have presented numerous professional development science workshops for Cincinnati area school districts.  We off have been/are a co-principal investigator for the Noyce scholarship grants program at the University of Cincinnati and is a member the Coordinating Committee of the University Council on Educator Preparation. We plan to increase our department's efforts in physics education by improving our courses in science education and by increasing the number of students in physics and science education. Our membership in PTEC would be beneficial by providing us with more information on successful physics teacher education programs, and allowing us the opportunity to attend the PTEC conferences and to meet and collaborate with other PTEC members."
