We are a small department of 3 tenured faculty and 1 lab instructor.  We service engineering, pre-professional, and a large school of education.  But we need more physics teachers locally and regionally.  Currently I am increasing outreach to local physics teachers to be a resource for them.  We have instituted a Transition-to-Teaching program for folks with 4 year degrees in Physics or Engineering that want to become teachers.  It is a condensed path towards teacher certification.  It has produced a few local physics teachers, but not enough.  I plan to increase my efforts on this front with the support of our School of Science and the resources of PTEC.
