The Department of Physics and Astronomy currently offers undergraduate programs leading to certification to teach physics at the secondary level through physics/math and physics/chemistry tracks.  The department also collaborates with the college of education to provide 4-8 science teacher certification.

At the graduate level certification to teach physics at the high school level is administered by the College of Education and Health Services.  A common route to acquire background is through participation in our masters degree in Broadfield Science-Physics.  The university is developing a science education MS degree to replace the broadfield program.
