| Description: | This Mathematics and Science Partnership (MSP) program is funded by the NC Department of Public Instruction with funds from the US Department of Education. The Modeling Physics Institute will be focused on the topics of Electricity and Magnetism. Institutes for Biology and Chemistry are also available. The Modeling Institutes are open to public, charter, or private high school teachers from North Carolina who will teach Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or Physical Science during the 2013-14 school year. You must anticipate teaching the appropriate content during the upcoming academic year to participate. The Modeling Physics course (Electricity & Magnetism) is considered an advanced course. As such teachers who apply for Physics are recommended to have taken a previous Modeling course and be familiar with the pedagogy. The Institutes are designed for high school science teachers. Out of state teachers are not eligible for this grant funded project. Note: concurrent Modeling Workshops in chemistry and in biology are offered. Only North Carolina teachers are eligible.
