Description: A 1-week introductory workshop (June 20-24) and a 2-week intermediate workshop (July 11-22) in chemistry will be held at the University High School in Carmel: 2825 West 116th Street.

The workshop is sponsored by the Indiana DOE, I-STEM, NISMEC and the Universities of Notre Dame, Marian and Southern Indiana. Because space is limited (24 spots), priority will be given to teams of at least two teachers from the same school or district.

This workshop is part of a series of Modeling Workshops announced by the Northern Indiana Science, Mathematics and Engineering Collaborative (NISMEC) for Indiana teachers of physics, chemistry, physical science and math.  Additional workshops available include:

Benefits and Requirements

Cost: Free; the $1000 registration fee is being paid (for Indiana teachers), courtesy of IN-DOE, I-STEM.

Benefit Explanation: Participants will each receive a stipend of $500 (Indiana teachers only).

Graduate credit is optionally available - 2 credits paid by the participant. One extra credit is available for extra work after the workshop.
Other Prerequisites: Open only to Indiana high school science teachers.

Two semesters of college chemistry.

The introductory workshop is prerequisite for the 2-week intermediate Modeling Workshop.
