| Description: | This workshop is (9th grade) mechanics. It has no prerequisite. Peer leader: Rex Rice of Clayton High School in Missouri. Rex started the inverted sequence (pcb) at Clayton in 1992. Location: Riverdale High School in Murfreesboro, TN Audience: For Tennessee teachers. Out-of-state teachers can attend if space is available at a cost of ~$300. | Benefit Explanation: | Middle Tennessee State University, the sponsor, is funded in 2012 by a new one-year state grant. The effort is part of Tennessee's High School STEM Redesign project and incorporates Physics First. The cost for out-of-state teachers is tentatively under $300 (barely covers materials and meals). Housing information is available. |
| Other Prerequisites: | It is preferred, but not essential, that participants teach in schools that use the inverted sequence (pcb) or that plan to implement that sequence. The mechanics workshop has no prerequisite, other than being an inservice high school physics teacher or preparing to be one. |
