| Description: | Mansfield University is proud to offer our second annual Modeling Institute for Chemistry, Physics, and Physical Science Teachers, July 5-22, 2011. The Institute features instructors from around the country, is sponsored by Corning Enterprises, and is offered free of charge to teachers. Modeling is a nationally acclaimed, research-proven approach to teaching physics and chemistry. See the 2008 article in The Science Educator. In addition to the primary sessions between June 5-22, follow-up support sessions will occur October 17-18, 2011 and March 12-13, 2012. Participation in support sessions is required for teachers in Physics Modeling and Chemistry Modeling whose school districts are within a 2-hour drive of Mansfield. Participation is strongly recommended for more distant teachers. No support session will be held for the Advanced Modeling course.
