| Description: | The University of Houston Cullen College of Engineering (CCE) will conduct a Summer research program for greater Houston math and science teachers. The program is designed to infuse 12 bright teachers with enthusiasm toward research that is subsequently shared with their respective high school classes throughout the year. Participants will make important contributions to the College's ongoing research efforts. During this program, teachers will acquire competence in 1) defining a research problem, 2) using modern methods associated with a literature search, 3) designing experiments, 4) learning about data acquisition and analysis, 5) preparing and giving reports and presentations, and 6) developing teaching modules through the use of the Infinity Project hardware and software package. |
