| Description: | The National Solar Observatory seeks middle and high school teachers of science and mathematics who would be interested in participating in the Summer 2005 NSO Research Experience for Teachers (RET) Program. Funded by the National Science Foundation, the Research Experience for Teachers Program supports active participation of K-12 teachers in research and education projects with the intent of facilitating professional development of K-12 teachers through strengthened partnerships between institutions of higher education and local school districts. The Observatory, with facilities in the Sacramento Mountains in south-central New Mexico and at Kitt Peak in south-central Arizona, has on-going research programs in solar physics, solar-terrestrial physics, solar-stellar physics and instrumentation. |
