Teaching College-Level Physics More Effectively

In this workshop, participants will be introduced to the growing field of physics education research (PER) and to the innovative materials that have been developed and tested. The workshop will focus on how PER is carried out, the types of questions that are being tackled, and how results inform ongoing efforts to improve student learning of physics.
The workshop will be presented in a single 5 hour session with no more than 24 participants. The workshop will be held from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM in the Learn Lab at Steelcase University, 901 44th Street, Grand Rapids. There is no fee for the workshop. Breakfast and lunch will be served at no charge. The three day program (all three summer workshops) will earn 1.5 CEU credits, on request, from Grand Valley State University.
