This compilation of papers, hand-outs, and resources is from a 2007 national conference on evidence-based best practice for teaching introductory astronomy. The Astronomical Society of the Pacific, one of the conference hosts, has made the compilation available at low cost. The 265-page volume contains instructional tools, lab exercises, classroom activities, demonstrations, online teaching resources, pedagogical articles, and ideas for building an interdisciplinary curriculum. The resource packet was designed for high school and college faculty who teach an astronomy course for beginning students with little background in physics or advanced mathematics.
The Astronomical Society of the Pacific provides many kinds of educational materials which can be ordered online from this site. The site includes links to many other astronomy-related resources.
