This page is a free multimedia tutorial on basic properties of waves, adaptable for students ranging from grades 8-12.  Materials are formatted in Adobe Flash, with short video clips, animations, and interactive question-and-answer sets.  This segment is part of a full module on the physics of waves developed by the HippoCampus project, part of the Open Education Resources effort (OER).

Of particular interest to physics teachers and learners is that each module is specifically correlated to more than a dozen widely-used physics textbooks.  Click on the "Textbook" tab to use this tool.

These materials could be very useful for students with certain learning disabilities.  The modules are designed to spark student interest through visual appeal and are accompanied by voice narration.

Please note that this resource requires Flash.
