PhysPort supports physics faculty in implementing research-based teaching practices in their classrooms, by providing expert recommendations about teaching methods, assessments, and results from physics education research (PER). A goal of this service is to synthesize and translate the important results of PER for use in the classroom.
PhysPort includes teaching and course recommendations from experts, guides to research-validated curricula, a database of learning assessment tools, and a tool to analyze this assessment data.
Editor's Note:The Physics Education Research (PER) community has been at the forefront of cognitive research into how people learn science and specific methodologies associated with successful classroom implementation of evidence-based best practice. The guidebook is well organized so that non-researchers can quickly and easily locate materials applicable to their particular student constituencies. Highly recommended.
