This item is a Physlet based interactive simulation allowing users to slide an object along an optical axis to the left of a convex mirror and view the changing image formation as the object moves.  The task is to determine the focal length of the mirror.

This simulation is part of a larger collection of Physlet-based illustrations and tutorials developed for introductory physics.

Please note that this resource requires Java Applet Plug-in.
