This applet demonstrates the harmonics of the air in a tube as an example of standing longitudinal waves. The user can chose the length and type of tube, both sides open, one side closed or both sides closed. The applet calculates the wavelength and and frequency of the wave. The user can choose to view the pressure wave or the displacement of the air molecules.
Please note that this resource requires at least version 1.4.2 of Java.
