This item is an interactive Java tutorial that simulates scanning of a sample under the microscope at fixed magnification.  Students can move the mouse to translate across the sample, control intensity and focus, and zoom in or out.  This item is part of a larger collection of virtual microscopy simulations developed for teachers and learners of introductory optics.

Please note that this resource requires Java.
